PolarisIC certified for ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety management flow
2025-03-11

On March 11, 2025, PolarisIC received the ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional-safety management-process certificate issued by Huacheng Certification. PolarisIC CEO Wang Lin, Huacheng Certification Deputy General Manager Yuan Lin, and delegates from both sides attended the presentation ceremony and shared this milestone.

ISO 26262 is the authoritative international standard for automotive functional safety. It covers the complete safety life-cycle of automotive-semiconductor products and imposes rigorous requirements on every development process that can influence functional safety. Its core goal is to minimize the risk of both systematic and random hardware failures, ensuring that automotive devices operate reliably under all complex driving conditions, safeguarding drivers and passengers, and boosting product competitiveness in the global automotive market.

The certificate confirms that PolarisIC has established a full product-development flow and management system that meets the highest automotive-safety level, ASIL D, as defined in ISO 26262:2018. The company is now qualified to develop and manage safety-critical, automotive-grade chips and can offer customers certified custom silicon and total solutions.

Commenting on the achievement, PolarisIC President Wang Lin said, “We look forward to even closer cooperation with Huacheng in product-reliability testing. Together we will work toward unified certification standards for automotive LiDAR chips and low-light image sensors, helping PolarisIC secure major breakthroughs in domestic dToF LiDAR and PCI low-light imaging devices, and accelerating their deployment in automotive applications.”
