PolarisIC Raises Over 100 Million CNY in Series A to Scale Up Mass Production
2025-09-18

PolarisIC Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen) ("PolarisIC") has closed a RMB 100 million-plus Series A round, led by CMB International, with participation from Union Optech (300691.SZ), SigmaStar (301536.SZ), Optical Valley Talents Investment Fund‌, and existing shareholder Goofar Capital.

As one of the very few domestic companies that master SPAD technology, PolarisIC, founded in 2021, has been relentlessly focused on core-technology R&D and key technological breakthroughs. Leveraging full-stack SPAD expertise and high-speed digital-integration capability, the company has built two product lines—dToF depth sensing and PCI low-light imaging, making it the only Chinese fabless designer to deployed SPAD technology in both 2D-imaging and 3D-sensing smart sensors. Its core devices are already widely deployed and highly regarded in consumer electronics, automotive, night-vision security, smart industry and AIoT markets.

PolarisIC is now accelerating on both its dToF and PCI tracks. The dToF family—DTS6004, DTS6005, DTS6012 and others—is already in high-volume delivery, powering smart projectors, drones and robot vacuums; in smart-projector applications PolarisIC has captured the No. 1 domestic market share. Its newest long-range and multi-zone devices (DTC5250, DTM3081, DTS6010, DTS6040) extend full-scene coverage to smartphones, robot vacuums, UAVs and automotive LiDAR. In the PCI line, PolarisIC has recently introduced PCM7130—the country’s first megapixel-class SPAD low-light imaging chip—to strong market acclaim, and plans to launch a higher-resolution commercial PCI device before year-end.

The proceeds will turbo-charge PolarisIC’s mass-production ramp and next-generation SPAD R&D, materially expanding dToF delivery capacity and accelerating PCI’s commercial rollout. Going forward, PolarisIC will double down on its “2D + 3D” dual-line strategy, putting spatial perception and ultra-low-light imaging to work for an intelligently connected era.
